The following chapters are based on the article 'Agriculture and Farm Boundaries in Holt and Little Witley, 1745-1992', which was published in Studies in Worcestershire Local History No. 6. It followed and article, 'Farming and Farmers in Holt and Little Witley', published in Studies in Worcestershire Local History No.5. The authors continue their research on this subject. All information given below is liable to alteration as more facts are gleaned from the archives. The illustration of paths or tracks does not necessarily that a public right of way exists or existed. The description or indication of a crop, field or farm boundary does not necessarily mean that a permanent hedge, fence or other barrier was or is present on the ground. This is particularly relevant in the case of the early strip fields. The illustration or description of farm or property boundaries is indicative and/or interpretative, these illustrations and/or descriptions should not be used to ascertain or assert property rights or boundary positions. |
